Regarding gigabitethernet - rauf1212 - 01-31-2011 Hi, Could anyone please tell me if I want to connect a router's ethernet(ethernet!) interface to CATALYST 3550 gigabitethernet interface what shoud I do? My ultimate target is to connect the router to a pc (catalyst 3550 will be in the middle). Router's ethernet interface connected to switch's one gigabitethernet port and switch fa 0/1 interface to pc's ethernet port. I wonder how to do that. Thanks in advance. Re: Regarding gigabitethernet - hellotaral - 03-03-2011 Hi rauf1212, r u looking for cabling connection or actual configuration? If cabling - then use straight cable between pc and switch and also between router and switch. As router and pc are straight device, when they talk to router, they need straight cable due to switch is cross device. if configuration issue, set up a ip address on pc (static if no dhcp), setup ip on router interface, make sure both ip should be in same subnet. Default gateway on PC nic should be the routers ip address. hope this will help. |
