I think this is just a matter of technicality. You are correct but I think the point of the question was just specifically what does the command output show, which is supposedly that both interfaces are UP/UP, which usually means that they are functioning correctly.
As far as the IP addresses overlapping, they do and if you actually tried to configure these addresses then the router would reject one of the inputs. You would not be able to configure this on a routerĀ :-\.
