Ethernet and IEEE 802.3
#1
(a) Ethernet standards were originally developed by Xerox with several other companies.  IEEE later developed the 802.3 standard with a few changes.

(i) How does the data carried in the Type and Data fields for Ethernet differ from that of IEEE 802.3?

(ii) Would a station implementing Ethernet be able to communicate with a station implementing IEEE 802.3?

(iii) Can the two implementations co-exist on the same local area network?
