  Passed ICND1 with a 955 this morning
Posted by: TracyJean - 02-07-2009, 10:21 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

I don't think I would have done so well without How2Pass.  I did take the ICND1 course (also took ICND2, the exam for which I want to take in a few weeks for the CCNA), but How2Pass gave me the confidence to pass because it gave me a feel for how the exam would go and what kinds of questions would be asked.  I finished the exam in less than 45 minutes and got 100% on 5 of the seven topics covered.

  QID S09 - ACL
Posted by: jauriri - 02-05-2009, 09:25 PM - Forum: Answer this question - Replies (2)

I found the access-list statement in this simlet rather confusing, if any one has any thoughts..:

When I use Austin(config)# access-list 102 deny tcp any host 192.168.37.1 0.0.0.255 eq telnet, the simlet returns "Invalid input" error.
When I omit "host" it takes it and marks the answer "correct".

Is this an error in the simlet or What is the right way to do it in this scenario? Anyone with some insight?

Posted by: kon310 - 02-05-2009, 05:14 AM - Forum: Answer this question - Replies (3)

The question is:
"What statements are true regarding ICMP packets?" Choose two.

I chose:
They are encapsulated in UDP datagrams. & They can provide hosts with info about network problems.

The correct answers say:
They are encapsulated in IP datagrams. & They can provide hosts with info about network problems.

So obviously i got 1 right but the other is confusing because IP packets are not datagrams, and i would have chosen that option however it said datagrams. Also I believe ICMP packets are encapsulated in UDP datagrams anyways. So to me there are 3 possible answers here if the word datagrams was switched with packets in the IP option. Can anyone care to share their thoughts?

Passed CCNA exam today, How2Pass really made a difference
Posted by: ventross - 01-29-2009, 08:24 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

The test questions supplied by my How2Pass subscription were spot on in relation to the exam, a highly recommended site, certainly cheaper than many others.
Do not underestimate this exam it's solid, I've done many in my life and this was indeed the most difficult.
I found the sample labs to be very beneficial, these really ate a lot of exam time.

Just for info. the Open University are offering the CCNA as a complete 2nd year undergraduate degree course, this is no noddy qualification.

I did have an odd question, were I had to place the correct TYPE of Cisco router and label the interfaces it had in a diagram, example being one of the Routers was a 2500 and you could supply S0 or S0/0, F0 or F0/0 ports etc. it was an odd one, be warned.......

I had the Switch simlet (nearly identical) an EIGRP simlet, and one were you had to drag the IP addresses and devices, then configure the devices.

I got 871 (pass mark was 825 - 48 questions), I did the actual course last year, 2 weeks with Global Knowledge and spent ~35 hours preparing.

I'm going on to study my CCNP with the Open University, the courses start this year.

Good luck.

Scored perfect 1000 on CCENT 640-822 Thank you how2pass!
Posted by: cranbers - 01-21-2009, 04:21 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (1)

My jaw dropped when I saw the score result.  I have never been so prepared for a test.  Given the hype, and being warned so much about the difficulty of these test, I was absolutely thrilled and well, disappointed given the experience.

Well on to 640-816.

I have never been so happy with 40 dollars spent.  ( If I didnt know better i'd say the exam questions taken here were similar to the real test) the familiarity, style, and experience right down the simulators.  Really was incredible.

I re-certified my CCNP last friday, I passed the BSCI. Make sure you understand how things work and not just memorize the questions, if you understand how the protocols work you will beable to answer any question Cisco throws your way. good luck to anyone going for the CCNP.

QID:NA310 - feasable distance vs. advertised distance
Posted by: joshuad31 - 01-15-2009, 01:25 AM - Forum: Answer this question - Replies (2)

Hello,

I am 100% sure that its the feasable distance which is installed into the routing table and not the advertised distance.  Please follow the link to Lammle's book on the CCNA where he explains this matter.  You have the advertised distance as being installed into the routing table which is incorrect.
