Purchase ICND1 then 2 or just CCNA
Posted by: avv604 - 04-30-2013, 05:13 AM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I plan on taking the two test route. I am wondering if it I can just purchase the CCNA and study with it (along with the other materials) or should I get the ICND1??

Thoughts?

  Passed ICND2 Today 4/22/2013
Posted by: andre in San Diego - 04-22-2013, 11:39 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

Took the ICND2 test today and passed with a 887. My study material included CCENT for Dummies, CCNA Simulator ITT edition and How2Pass. If you are on the fence about paying for How2pass, let me say DO IT! It will pay off big time. 80 percent of my preparation was from How2Pass.

  LAB 8 CONFUSION
Posted by: kam270 - 04-14-2013, 01:32 AM - Forum: Answer this question - Replies (1)

It says in LAB 8  that VLAN 1  address is 192.168.127.130  255.255.255.224

Therfore the increments are  in mulutples of 32
Then it is claims the managment subnet address is  = 192.168.127.128

That can not be correct if the address is 192.168.127.130

I believe this LAB is incorrect. Someon please clarify for me.

Thanks

Took my CCNA and Passed it today
Posted by: tlockette - 04-06-2013, 06:49 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (1)

2 years ago I went through the CCNA Bootcamp and decided that I had enough information to pass the exam.  I felt confident enough that I would be able to do extremely well on it so I scheduled the exam for the following week.  I had no idea how difficult the exam was going to be.  I ended up getting 724 (or something like that) on the exam and I felt crushed.  After a couple of years and some more real-world experience, I felt it was time for me to give it another shot.  I practiced with GNS3 and real equipment but what really prepared me for the various types of questions was How2Pass's online practice exam for CCNA.  I found that very similar questions were on the exam that were on the practice tests.  I don't say it to say that I memorized the answers but rather that I understood the question and knew why the correct answers were the correct answer.  I give the team at How2Pass a big thumbs up!  Great work guys!

VTP sims - had to change the domain name and also use last available ip address/27 for switch management. Set switch to client mode.
Frame-relay simlets. Names for were different. Logged onto console, did show run and show frame-relay map for get the info. No password for authentication.
5 ipv6 questions
4 or 5 security questions.
many switching questions.
Few Acl questions
2 Autom summary
Drag - Drop for ACL
I didn't see EIGRP and OSPF sims. Got lucky today
You can pass if you study the concepts with this site and doing the labs. I learned a lot from how2pass, the answers very clear and to the point. Made me understand the subject.
Study materials used along with this site, CBT Nuggets and Chris Bryant

  Passed my ICND1 yesterday with a 899.
Posted by: mrwz - 04-02-2013, 01:21 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (1)

I did my exam yesterday and passed it with a 899/1000 and had 30 minuites left on the clock. Big Grin I did all the practice exams until i was getting above 95 as suggested by how2pass then was mainly doing the last set of exams until i was getting 95 also. That really helped because most of the questions on the real exam were similar, so just follow the guidelines suggested by this site and you should be good, i'm also new to IT. On to ICND2 Wink

  ICND1 - Exam
Posted by: vcomm - 03-12-2013, 04:44 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (1)

Took the ICND1 Exam today.  Passed with 890 or so.  Took a CCNA bootcamp and have worked with IT for awhile.  As for the test, I  Either had questions that were really easy or question that were tricky.  Need to go slow and read the questions.  They reworded questions and have changed some of the answers.  Don't memorized answers and know the topics.  The security simlet is a perfect example.  On to ICND2. Big Grin
