New to IT and CCNA certified w/in 5 months!!
Posted by: sunflower1 - 08-31-2012, 09:05 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

Thank you How2Pass!!!!  I made the moved into IT about 5 months ago (IT was the only department with an available opening  ;D).  I had 0 experience but with the help of this site, I'm now CCNA certified and so proud!!!
My company pays the 3K for cisco training so I took the class for both ICND 1 and 2.  The first time I took ICND1 I hadn't discovered How2Pass,- I had my notes from the 5 day class, read the 400pg Cisco manuals TWICE and took notes which i read over and over, took their labs w/ router simmulations, as well as their practice tests ......I failed the test w/ a 770; seemed like the class/manuals didnt prepare me for the layout of the test or how i'd need to apply the material, and the labs were completely different from the test simmulations. I studied with How2Pass for 2 weeks and passed with an 880 - in my opinion the explanations here provided a much deeper understanding than the manual/instructor did.  For ICND2, i went through the motions of going to the class and taking a few notes but i primarily used this site as my study guide - I was on this site for about 2 hours (or more) a day for about 3 weeks - just taking the individual tests over and over until above 95%, then moved to the "real" practice test (at the bottom), doing that one until I was consistently getting 100% - i passed with a 958 and 30 minutes to spare on the clock.
Do review the hands on lab #8 (i think) re: VTP and configuring a switch w/ the last usable IP address and gateway of another - i had this on the test. I didnt have the OSPF/EIGRP simmulations but did have quite a few of the drag and drops (NAT, Admin Distance preference order, the ACL denying http w/ which addresses are permitted/denied), maybe 2 questions on IPv6. Alot of the questions were identical to those found here but some were a little different. There were only 43 questions.  I hope my info helps (and maybe eases some concerns about primarily using this site) Good luck everyone!!!!

  Passed ICND2 with a 930
Posted by: blewwrx - 08-31-2012, 02:54 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

I just took the ICND2 exam and passed with a score of 930. How2pass was well worth the investment. The practice tests and simulators help a great deal to prepare you for the actual exam. I highly recommend and I will be coming back when it comes time for renewal or future exams.

I prepared for the exam with the following:
Home lab equipment
Knowledgenet training videos
The Bryant Advantage videos and study guide
How2Pass

  CCNP Bootcamp in the UK
Posted by: pablomole - 08-24-2012, 07:02 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

hi all,

i'm thinking of doing a CCNP bootcamp course.... I did the CCNA with the help of this site which was great, although I'm thinking with the CCNP I need some time, focus and dedication (and access to kit!).

Anyway, any recommendations? I've seen FireBrandTraining mentioned a few times ?

Simulation (QID:S10) Troubleshoot OSPF is failing me
Posted by: nastri83 - 08-14-2012, 06:29 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hi Everyone,

I'm following the written answer exactly as it is shown and when I click "Done" and "End Test" it shows that I fail the simulation. Should I be doing something else in order to have the simulation properly identify my entries?

I can ping the other routers successfully, and I do a "copy run start" at the end also.

Could it be my version of java? Browser version?

A couple general questions for you as well:

Do these simulations require the commands to check the configuration (show ip route, show ip ospf, etc) in order to mark them complete?

Is there a particular order that the commands must be entered in so that the sim marks it as successful?

How about on the actual exam?

  Practice Test # 13 (913 Questions) Strategy ?
Posted by: ttaker - 08-07-2012, 10:50 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (3)

Anyone have advice on how to tackle a test that big?  Have a strategy that worked?
I have already got to 90-95 % on the preceding Practice tests except simulation.

  Passed 640-802 CCNA composite
Posted by: mkatona - 07-24-2012, 03:29 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (1)

I've been a network engineer for over 10years.
2002 - Passed the first time and let expire
2011 - Failed NOT using HOW2PASS (really didn't study at all and failed by 50 points.)
2012 - Passed using HOW2PASS (passed by 69 points. That's a 100 point swing)

I'll say this, if you are wondering if How2Pass is worth the money, yes it is. There are number of very closely worded questions. While not all the questions I seen on the test today are represented in How2Pass, enough are to say this is a great package. Not only does How2Pass give you the same question format as the CCNA, it has decent simulations which are close to the real deal. This is not a "learning package" it's a test practice package. You still need to know the basics.

I crammed with how2pass for about a month straight, took a three week break (that break was WAY too long), and crammed again for the last week. I was scoring around 85-90% on all the random tests. The night before the test, I didn't cram at all, but I did review using the Cisco Press books. I would say, get class room training or read the press books, then use HOW2Pass. It is worth it. CCNP tests here I come!!

passed CCNA 604--802!!!!!!!!!!! READ MY INFO
Posted by: fabrezz23 - 07-22-2012, 06:51 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

ok so i was shaky bout using this site and if it would work.................. OHHH IT WORKED........ IT does an amazing job of preparing for the test..... it so close most questions are similar............

the test gives you partial credit for your answers if you got lets say 1 out 2 right so even tho how2pass doesn't it works better in your favor giving you that extra push....

i should killed the test with a high 900 but i was nervous and got a low 900 but it was supper easy thanks to how2pass......
just do the test all the way at the bottom and keep it up till you get 90 at least everytime and your good!!!!!!

walked out with a 902 in right under one hour.  my labs sims were working correctly when I saved my answers but something must have gone wrong since OSPF was only %52 correct on my results. already been said but how2pass is a great tool to refine your test day knowledge
